This is another chapter in the long-running question, do Celebrities actually use the brands they endorse? Recently Robert Downey Jr, the brand ambassador for OnePlus posted about OnePlus on his Weibo page. However, he posted using a Huawei P30 Pro device. The post was quickly taken down. But nothing gets deleted from the Internet, and the screenshot of the post is doing rounds on the internet.

This news broke the internet, as many users on social media are seen trolling the actor and the OnePlus company. With many people making memes on Iron Man using Huawei phone over OnePlus. The Marvel Actor didn’t respond to the controversy for a few days.

But he indeed broke his silence and wrote in a post, “Well, I guess it’s time to upgrade my assistant to a new OnePlus 7 Pro, so mistakes don’t happen again.” This is a typical witty comment you expect from RDJ, but it is yet to see how OnePlus react to this silly mistake.

Other Incidents of Brand Ambassadors Using a Rival’s Product:

It is important to know this isn’t the first case of a celebrity brand ambassadors using a rival company’s product. Even Wonder Woman actor, Gal Gadot was spotted promoting Huawei’s Mate 10 Pro smartphone from an iPhone last year. Similarly, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was also caught tweeting about Google Pixel 2 XL from an iPhone.

However, Robert Downey Jr is among the few brand ambassadors who have actually owned up to their mistake in his own witty way. Earlier this year, Robert Downey Jr used to endorse HTC smartphones after before his switch to OnePlus.
